Club membership software and supporters you can reach.
Most clubs have thousands of followers and no supporters. The difference is whether you can reach them without asking a social platform’s permission.
Membership software is usually sold as administration — collect subs, track renewals, chase lapsed members. That matters, and it is the smaller half of the value.
The larger half is that a club which can reach its own supporters has something to sell. A club that can only reach them through a social platform does not.
Membership and renewals
Tiers, joining, renewals and a supporter card. Junior members billed to a parent, with the parent as the contactable person. Season tickets handled as season tickets rather than subscriptions with a different label.
The part that earns its fee is renewal — reminders, failed payments and lapsed members handled automatically. Sign-up is easy and every product demos it. Renewal is where clubs quietly lose people. More in rugby club membership software.
Supporter data you actually own
Every supporter record sits in one place with their membership, app activity, email engagement and matchday attendance attached. That is what makes segmentation possible — and segmentation is what makes an audience sellable.
Exportable at any time, destroyed on exit. The reasoning is in why supporter data belongs to the club.
Followers are rented, supporters are owned. A club with 40,000 followers reaches a fraction of them at a rate the platform decides. An email given with consent reaches the person directly, can be proven to a sponsor, and survives any algorithm change.
Consent, POPIA and GDPR
Collecting an address is not the same as being allowed to use it commercially. Consent is checked when an advert is served or an email sent — not recorded once at sign-up and assumed forever.
For South African clubs that is POPIA. For European clubs, GDPR, with data held in an EU region. A club that cannot demonstrate consent has a liability rather than an asset.
Why it is worth money
A sponsor buying social exposure is buying reach nobody controls. A sponsor buying a newsletter placement or a segmented push is buying a delivered, provable audience — worth several times more, and the thing clubs have least of.
How to package and price that is in sponsorship packages.
What it costs
Membership is included from our Matchday tier upward, with no percentage taken from your subscription income and no commission on anything you sell yourself. Compare that against a percentage model using the arithmetic in what membership software costs. Tiers are on the pricing page.
